# Manage scheduled tasks and approvals

Review standing messages, pause or remove them, and make informed approval decisions.

The **Tasks** area lists standing messages created from a conversation. Each row identifies the conversation, the message text, its active or paused state, and the next scheduled time when it is active. Open the conversation link in a row to return to its context.

Use Pause to stop future runs without removing the row. Use Resume to reactivate a paused row when the control is available. Removing a task requires a second confirmation action; use it only when you no longer need the standing message.

An inactive row says which of four things stopped it, and the distinction matters because only one of them is your own doing.

| Status | Meaning |
|---|---|
| **Paused** | You paused it |
| **Not in this conversation** | You are no longer a participant there |
| **Delivery failed** | The system stopped it after its send attempts ran out |
| **Inactive** | The app was not told a reason |

Read an inactive status as "stopped", never as "you stopped it".

## Review approvals

The **Approvals** area collects pending requests that need your decision. Read the requested scope, action description, expiration information, and any displayed amount before choosing Approve or Deny.

A pending approval shows decision controls; a resolved or expired approval does not offer a second decision.

When an approval is linked to a conversation, use **View conversation** to inspect the surrounding context. Some requests have no originating conversation, so the link is omitted rather than disabled.

> **Review displayed amounts** If an approval is presented as a charge, review the amount before approving. If a charge is missing its amount, the app shows an error and does not offer approval controls.

## Understand approval results

An approval can be approved, denied, or expired. If another decision has already settled the request, the app reports that it is already resolved. If its deadline has passed, it reports that it expired.

These states mean the original pending decision is no longer available.

## Task and approval problems

A failed task update leaves the row visible and shows an error. If Resume is refused, the app deliberately does not reveal whether the task is unavailable, belongs elsewhere, or is tied to a conversation you can no longer use. Do not rely on a guessed cause; return to the linked conversation or leave the task paused.

For an approval error, refresh the list before retrying. A request may have been resolved or expired between the time it appeared and the time you selected a decision. If an error remains after refresh, do not assume that an approval was accepted or denied.
